Common Classifications of Slurry Pumps
According to the working principle classification, a slurry pump is a type of centrifugal pump. When operating, the slurry pump relies on the rotation of the impeller inside the pump chamber to generate centrifugal force on the slurry, increasing its energy for transportation.
According to the different conveyed media, centrifugal pumps can be divided into clean water pumps, solution pumps, and slurry pumps; and according to different classification perspectives, there are various types. Based on the number of impellers in the centrifugal pump, they can be classified into single-stage impeller slurry pumps and multi-stage impeller slurry pumps; based on the relative position of the slurry pump shaft to the horizontal plane, they can be divided into horizontal slurry pumps and vertical slurry pumps; according to the pump casing feed method, they can be divided into single-suction feed slurry pumps and double-suction feed slurry pumps; and according to the structural form of the pump casing, they can be divided into horizontal split type and vertical combined type. Among these types, the single-stage horizontal single-suction slurry pump is the most widely used in alumina production.
