The trial operation of the slurry pump should meet the following requirements

(1) The rotation direction of the drive motor should be the same as that of the pump;

(2) All fixed connection parts should be free of looseness, and the specifications and quantities of lubricants added to each lubrication point should comply with the equipment technical documentation;

(3) Parts requiring pre-lubrication should be pre-lubricated as specified;

(4) All indicator instruments and safety protection devices should be sensitive, accurate, and reliable;

(5) The handwheel should operate flexibly without abnormal phenomena;

(6) The high-temperature pump should be preheated before trial operation, with the temperature rising evenly and not exceeding 500% per hour; the temperature difference between the pump body surface and the process pipeline with the working medium inlet should not exceed 400℃;

(7) Install connection devices to eliminate the impact of temperature rise and set up bypass connection devices to provide a cooling water source.

The following points should be noted during the operation of the slurry pump:

(1) Running without water is prohibited; do not adjust the suction port to reduce discharge; operation at excessively low flow rates is prohibited;

(2) Monitor the operation process, completely prevent stuffing box leakage, and use new packing when replacing the stuffing box;

(3) Ensure the mechanical seal has sufficient flushing water flow; excessive water flow is prohibited for water-cooled bearings;

(4) Do not use excessive lubricant;

(5) Conduct inspections according to the recommended schedule; establish operation records including running hours, packing adjustments and replacements, lubricant additions, and other maintenance measures and times; regularly measure and record the suction and discharge pressures, flow, input power, washing liquid and bearing temperatures, and vibration conditions of the centrifugal pump.
